Dial-Tone for Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is cloud-based team collaboration software that is part of the Office 365 suite of applications. The Teams app includes business messaging, video meetings and file sharing. Skyway West will also deliver dial-tone for Microsoft Teams, so users can take advantage of Teams as their corporate PBX.
Skyway West has partnered with Ribbon Communications and will soon be deploying their SWe Virtual Session Border Controller (or SBC). The Virtual SBC running in Skyway’s Western Canadian data centre will support Skyway’s existing Unified Communications solution. The Ribbon SBC will also deliver SIP trunks to on-premise phone systems and support Direct Routing. Microsoft Direct Routing allows Skyway to deliver SIP trunking or Dial-Tone for Microsoft Teams Phone System.
I.T. will have the option to deploy Teams as their corporate PBX or integrate Teams with their existing on-premise system. Skyway’s Cloud based UC service will also be able to migrate to Microsoft Teams. Skyway users can keep their existing desk phones and keep their hardware investment. The firmware in Yealink IP phones that Skyway deploys can be easily upgraded to integrate with Microsoft Teams.
Businesses that are looking to migrate to Microsoft Teams now or down the road can keep their existing PBX hardware. Users can slowly migrate to Teams, at a pace they are comfortable with. But if you’re looking for a new phone system but are not yet ready for Microsoft Teams, Skyway’s Cloud UC service can integrate to Teams while keeping your existing desk phone.
